Year after year millions of excited players prove that simulation games have become far more than just niche products. No matter if core gamer or casual game fan, teenager, adult or whole families, computer and video games which offer life-like depictions of occupations and the technologies associated with them are part of an ever growing trend towards realistic gameplay experiences and are reaching  a huge worldwide audience even far beyond the classic videogames market.

We at astragon are happy to meet this ever growing demand with a wide range of high-quality simulation games. Already today, several successful game series from our portfolio such as the Construction Simulator, Farming Simulator, Bus Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator franchise are reaching a million player strong audience. Looking towards the future, we wish to continue developing new ideas and concepts with which we aim to inspire players to keep exploring interesting technology, occupations and machines within a virtual world.

Our diverse range of products however also offers a broad choice for players whose interests lie outside of the technical simulation game genre: Complex business simulations, gripping strategy games and entertaining casual games round out our portfolio. Our games are also available worldwide on many platforms such as consoles, smartphones, tablets and PC.

How it all began

The foundation for today's astragon group was laid in 1998 by André Franzmann with the establishment of rondomedia Marketing & Vertriebs GmbH. The subsidiary astragon Software GmbH was then founded in 2000 by CEO and co-partner Dirk Walner and the two companies initially operated largely independently.

In the following years both companies established themselves as successful game publishers - rondomedia focusing on casual games and secondary releases and astragon focusing on simulation games.

For both publishers the thematic focus has moved into the same direction in recent years – the development and publishing of simulation games and the distribution of casual games and individual products from other genres.

In addition to the distribution of licensed games the focus is now also on developing own titles. In recent years both companies have also successfully entered the mobile sector, i.e. games for smartphones and tablets.

 

 

astragon group

It made more and more sense to increase cooperation, pool resources and pursue a unified market presence. The result is the astragon group, which has operated jointly since August 2015 showing a new unified logo.

The decision to continue under the name astragon is down to the group's emphasis on simulation games. astragon stands for simulations like hardly any other brand – a genre to which the new astragon group will devote itself to an even greater extent than before.

The former rondomedia now operates under the name astragon Sales & Services GmbH, dedicating itself to retail marketing. The former astragon now operates under the name astragon Entertainment GmbH and will focus primarily on publishing and international marketing.
